Downtown – Schatten im Licht 

ist als eigenständige Welt konzipiert, die sich über verschiedene Ausdrucksformen entfaltet: als Textausgabe und als Graphic-Novel-Ausgabe. Die Textausgabe verlässt sich ganz auf Sprache, Spannung und das Kopfkino des Lesers. Die Graphic-Novel-Ausgabe folgt demselben Text, erweitert ihn jedoch um eine zusätzliche visuelle Ebene in einer bewusst dunklen, dichten Bildsprache. Filmische Teaser lassen die Story auf neue Weise erblühen. Im Kern steht jedoch immer eine urbane Noir-Geschichte, die bewusst verdichtet erzählt wird – atmosphärisch, fokussiert und frei von unnötigen narrativen Ausschmückungen, keine langen Romanseiten, sondern  Leise, Geheminsvoll, düster- voller Schuld und Wahrheit.

Veröffentlichungsstatus

Die ersten beiden Episoden von Downtown sind bereits erschienen. Mit ihnen wurde das literarische Fundament des Projekts gelegt und in seiner ersten Form sichtbar gemacht. Die Teaser haben sich jedoch bereits in eine internationalere Form entwickelt: Geprägt von amerikanischem Englisch, haben sie das Projekt auf eine andere filmische und tonale Ebene gehoben.

Teaser & Entwicklung

Am 10. Mai 2026 wurde der erste Teaser veröffentlicht. Er markiert den Beginn der filmischen Entwicklung des Projekts und bietet einen ersten Einblick in die visuelle und atmosphärische Welt von Downtown – Schatten im Licht. Eine eigenständige visuelle Annäherungen an den Stoff, seine Stimmung und seine Erzählwelt.

Jörg Rampke verbindet literarisches Erzählen mit visueller Verdichtung. Der Fokus liegt auf Idee, Haltung, Atmosphäre und der konsequenten Entwicklung einer eigenen Welt über Text, Bild und Film hinweg.

Downtown – shadows in the light is conceived as a standalone narrative world unfolding across several forms of expression: as a text edition, a graphic novel edition, and as a cinematic adaptation. At its core is an urban noir story told in a deliberately condensed way — atmospheric, focused, and free of unnecessary narrative expansion. The text edition relies entirely on language, tension, and the reader’s inner cinema. The graphic novel edition follows the same text, but expands it through an additional visual layer rendered in deliberately dark, dense imagery.

Release Status

The first two episodes of Downtown have already been published. With them, the literary foundation of the project has been established and made visible in its initial form.

At this point, the book episodes exist only in German. The teasers, however, have already developed into a more international form: shaped by American English, they have moved the project onto a different cinematic and tonal level.

Teaser & Development

On May 10, 2026, the first official teaser was released. It marks the beginning of the project’s cinematic development and offers a first glimpse into the visual and atmospheric world of Downtown – Shadows in the Light.

More teasers are planned to follow, gradually deepening the project’s cinematic language step by step. They are not intended merely as companion pieces, but as independent visual approaches to the material, its mood, and its narrative world.

Short Film Perspective

The aim of this development is to carry the material forward not only in literary and visual form, but also cinematically. Based on the episodes already published and the teasers built upon them, this process could ultimately lead to a first short film.

Concept & Direction

Jörg Rampke is responsible for the concept, story development, and creative direction. His work combines literary storytelling with visual condensation and an independent, material-driven approach. The focus is not on large production machinery, but on idea, attitude, atmosphere, and the consistent development of a distinct world across text, image, and film. 

"Downtown – Shadows in the Light" está concebido como un universo narrativo independiente que se desarrolla a través de diversas formas de expresión: como una edición de texto, una edición de novela gráfica y como una adaptación cinematográfica. En su esencia se encuentra una historia de cine negro urbano narrada de una manera deliberadamente condensada —atmosférica, enfocada y libre de expansiones narrativas innecesarias. La edición de texto se apoya enteramente en el lenguaje, la tensión y el cine interior del lector. La edición de novela gráfica sigue el mismo texto, pero lo expande a través de una capa visual adicional plasmada en imágenes deliberadamente oscuras y densas.

Estado de Lanzamiento

Ya se han publicado los dos primeros episodios de Downtown. Con ellos, se ha establecido la base literaria del proyecto, haciéndose visible en su forma inicial.
En este momento, los episodios del libro existen solo en alemán. Sin embargo, los teasers ya se han desarrollado hacia una forma más internacional: influenciados por el inglés americano, han llevado el proyecto a un nivel cinematográfico y tonal diferente.

Teaser y Desarrollo

El 10 de mayo de 2026 se lanzó el primer teaser oficial. Este marca el inicio del desarrollo cinematográfico del proyecto y ofrece un primer vistazo al mundo visual y atmosférico de Downtown – Shadows in the Light.
Está previsto que sigan más teasers, los cuales profundizarán de forma gradual y paso a paso en el lenguaje cinematográfico del proyecto. No están concebidos como meros complementos, sino como enfoques visuales independientes del material, su atmósfera y su universo narrativo.
Perspectiva del Cortometraje
El objetivo de este desarrollo es impulsar el material no solo en forma literaria y visual, sino también cinematográfica. Basándose en los episodios ya publicados y en los teasers construidos sobre ellos, este proceso podría conducir, en última instancia, a un primer cortometraje.

Concepto y Dirección

Jörg Rampke es el responsable del concepto, el desarrollo de la historia y la dirección creativa. Su trabajo combina la narrativa literaria con la condensación visual y un enfoque independiente centrado en el material. El enfoque no está en una gran maquinaria de producción, sino en la idea, la actitud, la atmósfera y el desarrollo coherente de un mundo propio a través del texto, la imagen y el cine.
